Day Sector Time Programme

Day 1 Delhi – Gaya
15:00 hrs. Assemble at the assembly area at Delhi Safdurjung Railway Station. Traditional Welcome and you will be escorted to your respective coaches.
16:00 hrs. Departure of the train for Gaya.
17:00 hrs. Evening Tea.
19:00 hrs. dinner on-board. Over night on-board the train.

Day 2 Gaya – Bodhgaya
05:00 hrs. Arrive at Gaya. Disembark the train and assemble for boarding the coaches for road journey to Bodhgaya.
06:30 hrs. Arrive at Bodhgaya Hotel and check-in.
08:00 hrs. Breakfast.
09:30 hrs. Proceed by coach for sightseeing of Bodhgaya including Mahabodhi Temple, Niranjana River and Bodhgaya Museum.
12:30 hrs. Return to the Hotel for lunch and relax till teatime.
16:00 hrs. Proceed for sightseeing of Thai Temple, Japanese Temple and Buddha Statue.
19:00 hrs. Return to Hotel, dinner and overnight at hotel in Bodhgaya.

Day 3 Bodhgaya – Nalanda – Rajgir – Gaya – Varanasi
05:30 hrs. Early morning tea and breakfast and checkout from the Hotel for departure to Nalanda.
07:00 hrs. Proceed by coach to Nalanda.
09:30 hrs. Arrive at Nalanda University and start the sightseeing covering Nalanda Museum.
12:30 hrs. Proceed to Hotel Rajgir Residency for lunch.
13:30 hrs. Proceed for sightseeing of Rajgir including Bimbimsara Jail, Hot Water Springs, Gridhakut hill, Venuvan.
17:00 hrs. Depart back to Gaya Railway Station.
1900 hrs. Arrival at Gaya Railway Station and board the train.
20:00 hrs. Dinner.
2300 hrs. Departure from Gaya to Varanasi by train.

Day 4 Varanasi – Sarnath – Gorakhpur
05:00 hrs. Early morning tea on-board and arrive at Varanasi. Disembark the train and assemble for boarding the coaches.
06:00 hrs.–08:00 hrs. Arrive at Hotel, check in at Hotel and breakfast.
08:30 hrs. Depart for Sarnath for sightseeing of Dhamekh Stupa, Sarnath Museum, The Ashokan Pillar, Mulgandha Kuti Vihar.
12.30 hrs. Lunch and check out from the hotel.
1330 hrs. Shopping/Golf.
17.00 hrs. visit to Ghat, Boat ride, Evening Arti. Return to the Train.
20:00 hrs. Dinner in train.
2330 hrs. Departure for Gorakhpur.

Day 5 Gorakhpur – Kushinagar
05:00 hrs. Early morning tea and arrive at Gorakhpur.
06:00 hrs. Arrival at Gorakhpur. Proceed by coach to Hotel at Kushinagar.
07:30 hrs. Arrival and check-in and breakfast at the Hotel.
09:00 hrs. After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing of Kushinagar including Mahaparinirvan Temple, Rambhar Stupa, Mata Kutir Temple.
14:00 hrs. Lunch at Hotel.
16:00 hrs. Evening tea.
17.00 hrs. Chanting Session.

Day 6 Kushinagar – Lumbini – Gorakhpur
05:30 hrs.–07:00 hrs. Early morning tea and breakfast at Hotel.
07:30 hrs. Check-out of the Hotel and depart for Lumbini.
12:30 hrs. Arrival and sight-seeing of Lumbini including Maya Devi Temple and Ashokan Pillar.
13:30 hrs. Lunch at Hotel.
14:00 hrs. Proceed for sightseeing of Pushkarni and Buddhist Monastery at Lumbini.
1600 hrs. departure to Gorakhpur.
20:00 hrs. Arrive at Gorakhpur Station.
20:30 hrs. Dinner in train and depart by train to Gonda.

Day 7 Gonda – Saravasti – Gonda – Agra
03:30 hrs. Arrive at Gonda. On board early morning tea.
05:30 hrs. Departure by coach to Saravasti.
07:30 hrs. arrive at Hotel and check-in.
09:30 hrs. After breakfast, proceed to for sight-seeing of Sehat Mahet and other Buddhist sites at Saravasti.
13:00 hrs. Lunch at Hotel.
14:30 hrs. Checkout of the Hotel to return to Gonda railway station.
16:30 hrs. Arrive Gonda Station.
20:15 hrs. Depart by train to Agra. On board Dinner and overnight stay on-board.

Day 8 Agra – Delhi
05:00 hrs. Early morning tea and arrival at Agra.
05:30 hrs.–07:30 hrs. Transfer to Hotel and check-in.
08:00 hrs. Breakfast at Hotel.
09:00 hrs. Check out & Proceed for sight-seeing of the World famous Taj Mahal and Agra Fort.
12:30 hrs. Proceed to the railway stations.
14:15 hrs. Depart by train for New Delhi. Onboard lunch.
16.00 hrs. Evening Tea on Board Train.
17.00 hrs. Arrive Delhi Safdurjung Rly Station.

Important Notes:

a) Tourists travelling by the Buddhist Train should reconfirm their tour departure date, departure time, location of Delhi Safdarjung Station etc. with IRCTC Tourism Marketing office before the departure of the train.
b) All Foreign Tourists other than Indian Passport Holders must have valid Multiple Entry Indian visa for visiting Nepal during the tour.
c) All Foreign Tourists other than Indian Passport Holders must have valid Nepal visa. In case foriegn tourists are unable to process their Nepal visa before joining the tour, IRCTC will facilitate visa processing at the entry post. Such passengers should carry 2 passport size photographs with them.
d) Indian Nationals must carry a government issued photo identity card (passport, driving license, PAN Card etc.) for Nepal visit.
