Amritsar International Airport is popularly known as Raja Sansi International Airport. The airport is named after Maharaja Ranjit Singh's family name - Sansi. Amritsar Airport is located 11 km north-west from the city of Amritsar, India and serves a large number of expatriate Punjabis.
