Gulf Air is one of the premier international airlines of the world. Gulf Air is owned by the Kingdom of Bahrain, Sultanate of Oman and Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The airline has a cosmopolitan crew which comprises of over 80 nationalities and speak over 70 different languages.
Gulf Air launches its services in 1950. At that time it was known as he Gulf Aviation Company. In 1974, Gulf Aviation Company became Gulf Air. In 1981, Gulf Air became an IATA member and in 1982 it became the first international airline to land at Riyadh. In 1992, Gulf Air became the first Arab airline to fly directly to Johannesburg and Melbourne. In 2002, Gulf Air became the first Middle East airline to introduce in-flight chefs to serve first class passengers. In 2003, Gulf Air unveiled its new corporate identity in April as part of the progressive change management programme.
Gulf Air presently has a fleet of 34 aircrafts serves over 50 destinations worldwide. In India, Gulf Air flies to Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Kochi, Mumbai, and Trivandrum.
