Asiana Airlines
Asiana Airlines is a South Korea based airline. Asiana’s main hubs are Incheon International Airport and Gimpo International Airport.
Asiana Airlines was established on February 17, 1988 and commenced operations on December 1988, with flights to Bangkok. The airline was founded by the KumhoAsiana Group as part of the South Korean government's policy to create an additional flag carrier. The break up of Asian Airlines holding is as follows: Private investors (30.53%), Kumho Industrial (29.51%), Kumho Petrochemical (15.05%), foreign investors (11.9%), Korea Development Bank (7.18%), and others (5.83%). With effect from February 1, 2006 Asiana Airlines has changed its corporate identity as the parent company Kumho Asiana Group decided to unify different Corporate Identities of its divisions.
As on July 2005, Asiana had a fleet size of 63 aircrafts. This included two Airbus A320-200, 13 Airbus A321-200, two Airbus A321-100, three Airbus A330-300, 12 Boeing 737-400, three Boeing 737-500, 13 Boeing 747-400, six Boeing 767-300, three Boeing 767-300ER, and five Boeing 777-200. Presently, Asiana Airlines covers 77 destinations around the world. In India, Asiana flies to Delhi.
