Durgamba Motors
Durgamba Motors started in the year 1975 with one bus service between Ajri, Kundapur and Hallihole by Shettipal Chatra family then lead by Sachidananda Chatra with his brothers Sadadananda Chatra and Krishnananda Chatra. Subsequently it added new routes to the rural villages in Kundapura Taluk and Udupi Taluk.
In 1985 the first express bus between Chakranagar and Mangalore was started. In 1996 Durgamba entered Luxury Bus Segment by introducing daily service to Bangalore and Mysore, subsequently it introduced bus service to other places in the State of Karnataka.
Young, Dynamic, well qualified Sadananda Chatra and Krishananda Chatra are the Managing Partners of Durgamba Motors, actively held in many designated posts and involved in various activities like Rotary movement, Bus Owners association. Both brothers are specialized in the transport field. The administrative office and advanced workshop is situated at Hanglur, near National Highway and having all the modern facilities.
On Fourteenth March 2001 His Holyness Shringeri Jagaduguru Sri Bharathi Theertha Swamiji personally visited and inaugurated Ultra Luxury bus ‘Maharaja’.
